It's hard to believe I started this hair journey of mine almost 2 years ago. It really just feels like yesterday that I grabbed the scissors and went to chopping. It wasn't easy in the beginning but now that I've got the hang of it I can't imagine wearing anything but my natural hair. When I first cut my hair I honestly didn't know if I could make it this far. There were a few days that I sat in my room really asking myself what the hell I was doing. Day I was so frustrated with my hair. Debating just submitting to the cream crack. I would be lying if I said I didn't hear that perm calling my name a couple of times. But, I got through it with the hopes that I would grow a head full of big beautiful curls. Two years later I'm almost at my goal and I couldn't be happier with my decision.
And since I'm celebrating such a huge milestone, I decided I would share some of my hair staples with you. These are my absolute have to have products. My old trusties. These are the products I would take with me if I was stranded on an island and could only choose a few things. These are my babies. I don't know what my hair would look like without them.
1. Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner - This right here is my holy grail. Without this my hair would probably be a hot mess. I envy those hair gurus who have an entire day they can spend on deep conditioning. I, on the other hand, have no time for that. Aussie really helps out a lot in that situation. I can deep condition in 3 minutes. I normally keep it in for about 10 minutes and if I have time to spare maybe 30 minutes.
2. Lustrasilk Moisturizer - Because my hair doesn't do so good with creams, I have been using the Lustrasilk. It's water based moisturizer and it works well with my hair to keep it moisturized throughout the week. I apply it once a week after I wash and before I add gel and I'm good to go.
3. Eco Styling Gel - I think every natural has used this at one point or is using it now. Some people love it some don't. I love it. This is the last step in my Wash n Go. By adding this gel I can get a couple more days on my Wash n Go before the frizz takes over.
So, these are my top products. I'm always interested in what other naturals use in their hair so feel free to share your top products as well.
