At 42 years old staying healthy is very important to me. Actually staying healthy really should be important at any age but as you get older it should be top priority. Our lives are filled with stresses and our schedules don’t leave time for much more than sleep. In the last couple of months I gotten the same question from a few different people. “With all that I have going on how do I keep myself healthy?” First of all, it’s not easy. I have to make a conscious decision to do the things needed to take care of me. As I think about all the things I do, I always come back to 3 basic things that I always make sure to incorporate into my life.
Exercise - If you know me you know how I feel about making exercise a regular part of your life. I strongly believe you should do 50 minutes of some type of activity at least 3 times per week. The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion suggests 150 to 300 minutes per week. It can be walking, swimming or lifting weights. Just do something. Exercising releases endorphins which are known as the happy hormones. To sum it up, exercising makes you feel good. Just by taking the time to exercise you will strengthen your heart, bones and lungs. It’s great for weight control and it increase your quality of energy. It’s a natural energy booster. Exercise also helps by stimulating blood flow which induces skin cell adaptations that can help delay the appearance of skin aging. Looking younger is enough reason to head to the gym. I know since I’ve started working out I have had several people tell me I look much younger than my age. Are you having trouble remembering things that use to come easy? Exercising can also stimulate the production of hormones that can enhance the growth of brain cells. Exercise has been known to cause an increase in the size of the part of the brain that's vital for memory and learning. All of this is great but the best thing exercise does for you is increases the immune system. I find I don’t get sick as often when I’m more active.
Increase Your Intake of Nano Glutathione Antioxidant - Antioxidants are compounds that inhibit the oxidation of the body. Oxidation is a chemical reaction that can produce free radicals, thereby leading to chain reactions that may damage your cells. They are found in berries, nuts and green leafy vegetables. I try to do my best of making sure my diet includes as much of these food as possible. Unfortunately like many people I tend to fall short when it comes to eating enough, so I include a Nano Glutathione Antioxidant supplement in my diet. Just like exercise, glutathione antioxidants help to increase your immune system. It helps to enhance and recycle Vitamin C and E in the body which helps keep you from getting sick. It also blocks free radicals and by blocking these free radicals it slows down the aging process. As I age, adult acne can be stressful. I’ve found that Nano Glutethione helps to smooth and brighten the skin and prevents blemishes and acne. Also by taking or eating antioxidants as part of your lifestyle routine while working out, you are aiding in the recovery of your muscle. It also helps with the muscles growth and strength.
Quality Rest - People underestimate the importance of sleep. Even more the importance of quality sleep. The Department of Health suggest that the average adult get 7-8 hours of sleep per night to be considered well rested. Like most people I find that getting that much sleep is a luxury. Being well rested can reduce stress levels and improve your overall health. Rest is great for memory improvement. During sleep you strengthen memories or "practice" skills learned during the time you were awake. Rest also goes hand in hand with exercise. If you’re going to workout it’s very important to get enough rest so that your body and your muscles have the proper time to recover.
Staying healthy is a conscious decision. It involves making changes and making time to do the things that are best for your mind, body and soul. Incorporating these 3 simple things into your daily routine will help to increase your quality of life and start you on the path to a healthier, happier life.
