One of my most recent explorations took me to Delray Beach. The kids and I ventured to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden. I've visited the garden a couple of years back but I wanted the kids to experience it as well.
The first thing we did when we arrived was check out the museum. I've been taking my kids to museums since they were little and they always seem to enjoy the experience.
The exhibit featured art that reflected the representation of "Executive Order 9066." I was especially fond of the Tag project. The Tag Project consists of groupings of 120,000 recreated, paper identification tags from the Executive Order 9066 suspended from the ceiling. Very powerful.
Then it was off to the gardens. Just picture 16 acres of various types of Japanese gardens that includes an authentic tea house. It was so peaceful and serine. We could have spent the entire day there. But of course the crazy Florida weather sent us running from afternoon showers.
Here are a few photos from our trip to Morikami that will make you want to plan a trip of you own soon.
