Every year for the last couple of years I try to do a week-long summer vacation. Something memorable that I haven’t done before. Well, at the begin of the year I stumble upon a group of travelers that frequent a music festival in Aruba. It’s called the Soul Beach Music Festival. I had heard of it a few times but never really paid any attention to it. You see, up until recently I spend most of my vacation days traveling with my family or taking care of my kids, so this wasn’t really on my radar. But after being divorced for a while now and finding a new love for travel, being amongst this group of travels really got me excited about checking it out.
Soul Beach is held in Aruba during Memorial Day weekend. Its jam packed with over 5,000 people from all over the country who go to Aruba to enjoy all the events the festival has to offer. For those interested on Concerts, they’ve got that. 2018 brought Maxwell and Alicia Keys. There is also a comedy show for those who enjoy that. For the entire weekend there’s a massive beach party with some amazing DJ’s and the best part of that is the beach party is free. Just grab your cooler and a towel. Then head out there early enough to reserve a beach chair and you can pretty much hang there the entire day. Do you crave a little night life action? The night life is nothing less than entertaining.
I was there for about 7 days and even though most of my time was spend doing Soul Beach related activities, I still managed to take some time to explore the island. I booked a ATV tour that bought me through the desert of the the island. With the tour I visited the islands natural bridge and gold mine ruins. The ride was tough and extremely rocky but the end result was breath-taking. We ended up at one of Aruba's natural pools. Where I was able to take a cool dip while I watched some of the others in my group do a little bit of rock jumping.
I have to say this trip was one of the best times I've had without my kids and I'm so happy I decided to just do it. I had such an amazing time that I’m looking forward to going back next year.
I'm going to leave you with some pictures of the highlights from my trip. Let me know what you think. Have you ever been to this or any other music festival?
